Born on December 8, 1908, in Bolivar, Missouri, she became the owner of Fürstenhäusle through marriage. Bothmer was known for her contributions to the art world and established the Meersburger Droste Prize in 1956. She passed away on February 22, 1996, in Wilsonville, Oregon.
