Mambu served as a Regional Adviser at the WHO's African regional office and spent 18 years as a Resident Representative in various countries. After retiring in 2008, she became Senior Program Officer for the Sustainable Immunization Financing Program at the Sabin Vaccine Institute, overseeing activities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, and Madagascar.
