Helge Drange is a Norwegian oceanographer and climate researcher born on February 8, 1965, in Bergen. He earned his cand. scient degree from the University of Bergen in 1990 and a dr.scient. degree from the Nansen Center in 1994, focusing on biogeochemical oceanography. He became a professor of oceanography at the University of Bergen's Geophysical Institute in 2008 and serves as a climate researcher at the Bjerknes Center for Climate Research. Drange has held roles including research director at the Nansen Center and contributing author to the IPCC's fourth assessment report.
