Henk Raak was a Dutch resistance fighter during World War II. Born on July 21, 1920, in Hollandscheveld, he worked as a clerk at the main post office in Hoogeveen. Initially assisting in hiding people, he later participated in various resistance activities, including a major robbery that secured distribution cards for the underground. He was arrested by the Sicherheitsdienst and, after enduring torture, was sentenced to death. Raak was executed on June 6, 1944, in Overveen, and was later buried in the honorary cemetery in Bloemendaal.
