Henk van Maldegem was a Dutch politician from the VVD, born on July 4, 1939, in Vlissingen. He studied mechanical engineering after attending secondary school and worked as a technical assistant at the Laboratory for Natural and Weather Sciences. Later, he became a teacher in technical drawing and practical applications. Van Maldegem served as a council member in Zevenaar and was the mayor of Westkapelle starting in August 1981 until the municipality merged in 1997. He passed away on December 1, 2020, at the age of 81.
