Henry Abeywickrema was a Sri Lankan politician born on December 27, 1905. He was educated at Richmond College and St. Aloysious' College in Galle. After losing a by-election for his brother's seat in 1948, he joined the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in 1951. He won the Baddegama seat in the 1952 elections and retained it in 1956, increasing his majority. He served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport and Works and then as Minister for Works. In 1965, his civic rights were suspended due to the Imposition Of Civic Disabilities Act.
