Henry Alleyne Lash (1901-1975) was a British Indian Army officer known for his extensive military service and leadership roles. Born in Calcutta to Irish parents, he was educated at Tonbridge and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Lash was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1920, rising through the ranks to hold various command positions during his career, including service during WWII as commanding officer of the 1st Battalion, 18th Royal Garhwal Rifles. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1946 and retired as an honorary brigadier.
