Born as Henry Nissenbaum on January 15, 1948, he won a gold medal at the 1969 Maccabiah Games in flyweight boxing. As a professional, he held both the Australian and Commonwealth flyweight titles. Throughout his career, he fought across various weight classes, including flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight. Beyond boxing, Nissen has contributed as a youth social worker and is a co-founder of the Emerald Hill Mission.
