Heorhii Kovalenko is a Ukrainian Orthodox priest born on April 1, 1968, in Konotop, Sumy Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. He was formerly a protodeacon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). From 2008 to 2014, he served as the spokesperson for the head of the UOC, Metropolitan Volodymyr. He held positions as the chief editor of the UOC's official website and the chairman of the Synodal Information and Enlightenment Department. In January 2019, he transitioned to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) and was subsequently banned from serving.
