Herbert Enderton was an American mathematician known for his work in recursion theory, definability, model theory, computational complexity, and the history of logic. He served as an emeritus professor of mathematics at UCLA and was previously part of the faculties at the University of California, Berkeley. Enderton completed his PhD at Harvard in 1962 and was a member of the American Mathematical Society. He was also the editor coordinator for the Journal of Symbolic Logic from 1980 to 2002 and passed away from leukemia in 2010.
