Herman van Veen is a Dutch cabaret singer, writer, director, musician, actor, and presenter, born on March 14, 1945, in Utrecht. He is professionally a violinist and singer, and is also an activist for children's rights. Van Veen is especially known for creating the Dutch-Japanese animated character Alfred J. Kwak, for which he composed and performed most of the music himself.
