Hermann Josef Busch was a German musicologist and professor born on February 20, 1943, in Monheim am Rhein. He studied musicology, church music, school music, history, and psychology. He taught at the University of Siegen until 2008 and also held teaching positions at music colleges in Cologne, Detmold, and Mainz. From 1973 to 1993, he served as the editor-in-chief of Ars Organi. Busch passed away on December 28, 2010, in Siegen.
