Hielke Nauta was a Dutch politician, initially associated with the CHU party and later the CDA. He began his career in 1951 as a volunteer municipal secretary and held various positions in several municipalities. Nauta served as the municipal secretary of Dokkum before becoming the director and teacher at the Bestjoersskoalle Fryslân. He was an active member of the municipal council in Ljouwert and was later appointed mayor of Beilen and acting mayor of Smilde. He continued to serve until his retirement in 1997 and passed away in August 2020 at the age of 88.
