Born on January 8, 1931, in Aleppo and graduated from military academy in 1949. He held various significant military positions throughout his career, including roles in military intelligence and diplomatic negotiations. Al-Shihabi was close to several Syrian leaders and involved in key negotiations during the Lebanese Civil War and peace talks with Israel. He passed away on March 5, 2013.
