Hilaree Nelson was an American ski mountaineer born on December 13, 1972, in Seattle, Washington. She made history on May 25, 2012, by becoming the first woman to summit two 8000-meter peaks (Everest and Lhotse) in a single 24-hour push. Known for her exceptional skills in high-altitude mountaineering, she pushed the limits of what was thought possible for female climbers. Tragically, she passed away on September 26, 2022, while attempting to climb Manaslu.
