His expertise lies in parallel processing and green computing. Kasahara earned his Doctorate in Engineering from Waseda University in 1985. He served as Vice President of Waseda University from November 2018 to September 2022. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Information and Computer Science at Waseda University, researching low-power AI accelerators and renewable energy applications aimed at carbon neutrality.
