Hiroshi Shimomura (June 16, 1904 - April 21, 1986) was a haiku poet and physician from Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. His real name was Hiroshi. He graduated from Nagasaki Medical University and began writing haiku under the guidance of Taishi Tanaka. In 1933, he joined the haiku group 'Asabuki' and was mentored by the poet Akisato Mizuhara. He founded the haiku magazine 'Shuro' in 1947 and dedicated his life to poetry in Nagasaki, often reflecting exotic themes in his work. His experiences aiding atomic bomb victims influenced his poetry.
