Hitoshi Miyake (born September 22, 1933) is a Japanese religious scholar specializing in Shugendo research. He is a professor emeritus at Keio University and has served as the head of the Shugendo religious corporation since 2012. He is also a member of the Japan Academy, contributing to the study and understanding of this unique spiritual practice that blends elements of Japanese mountain worship and esoteric Buddhism.
