He also contributed as a senior advisor to the Myanmar Peace Center and served in the Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee. He has remained an influential advisor to the peace initiative even after Aung San Suu Kyi's government took power. In November 2022, he received the prestigious Wunna Kyawhtin title, recognizing his contributions to civil service.
