Ho Yuen Hoe, also known as Venerable Jing Run, was a prominent Buddhist nun in Singapore, celebrated for her charitable contributions to the less fortunate. Born on February 18, 1908, she became the abbess of Lin Chee Cheng Sia Temple and founded Singapore's first Buddhist nursing home, Man Fut Tong Nursing Home, in 1969. Despite her significant charitable work, she gained wider public recognition only in 1996 at age 88 through a television program. She received the Public Service Award in 2001 and continued her charity efforts until her hospitalization in late 2005, passing away on January 11, 2006.
