Holger Herbert Magel is a German geodesist born on May 3, 1944, in Neuburg an der Donau. He served as the head of the Bavarian Authority for Rural Development and later held the position of Professor of Land Management and Development at the Institute of Geodesy, GIS, and Land Management at TUM. He was also the founding director of Germany's first international postgraduate Master's program in 'Land Management and Land Tenure in Urban and Rural Areas'. Since 2013, he has been part of the Emeriti of Excellence within the Senior Excellence Faculty at TUM.
