Homer E. Woodling was an influential athletics coach and administrator at Fenn College, now Cleveland State University. He was head men's basketball coach twice, from 1929 to 1941 and 1952 to 1953, and coached various sports including baseball, track, tennis, and golf. Woodling was the athletic director until 1966 and was the only athletic director during Fenn College's existence. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Cleveland State Hall of Fame in 1975, and a gymnasium is named in his honor.
