Homero Enrique Cárdenas Guillén was a suspected Mexican drug lord and leader of the Gulf Cartel. Born on 13 March 1966, he was the brother of other notable cartel leaders. He worked in the Gulf Cartel, learning leadership under his brothers, especially during the 1990s. Following a series of setbacks for the cartel, he assumed leadership in 2013 after his brother's arrest. Cárdenas is believed to have died of a heart attack on 28 March 2014.
