Horacio Hidrovo Velásquez was an Ecuadorian poet, novelist, and short story writer born on May 20, 1902, in Santa Ana. He was the President of the House of Ecuadorian Culture, Manabi branch, in 1957. His son, Horacio Hidrovo Peñaherrera, followed in his literary footsteps. Hidrovo Velásquez is best known for his novel 'Un Hombre y un Río' published in 1957. He was honored posthumously when a collection of his poems, 'Canción de las Voces Infinitas', was published in 1975, although many of his works remain scattered in magazines.
