He received the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2021 for his significant contributions in the essay/research category. He passed away on May 20, 2024, at 4:40 PM, while undergoing treatment at Jessore Combined Military Hospital due to severe health issues, including respiratory problems, heart disease, and complications from previously undergoing open-heart surgery in 2019.
