Hossein Torabi is an Iranian director and documentary filmmaker born in 1936. He graduated in cinema, television, and radio from the Dramatic Arts University and holds a master's degree in cultural management from Farabi University. He started his filmmaking career in 1970 at the Ministry of Culture and Art with a short film titled 'Majles Sarcheshmeh'. His notable documentary, 'For Freedom', was recently recognized by film historian Mark Cousins at the BFI in London as one of the ten documentaries that shook the world.
