Howard F. Stone is a retired lieutenant general in the U.S. Army, born on May 25, 1931. He served as Commandant of the United States Army Command and General Staff College from August 24, 1981, to June 25, 1982. Following this role, he became Chief of Staff of the United States European Command. Stone is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy, where he earned a B.S. degree in 1955, and he holds an M.A. degree in public administration from the University of Oklahoma.
