Howard Banford Siler was an American bobsledder born on June 18, 1945, in Newport News, Virginia. He was a prominent competitor, winning nine US national championships and earning a bronze medal in the four-man bobsled at the 1969 World Championships in Lake Placid. Siler competed in the 1972 Olympics, finishing 16th in the two-man event, and improved to 5th in 1980 while also placing 13th in the four-man event. After retiring, he became an insurance agent and later coached the Jamaican bobsled team, which debuted at the 1988 Winter Olympics.
