Hubert Claessen was a prominent German lawyer and football official, recognized as one of the founders of the Bundesliga. He served as chairman of Bonn FV from 1950 until its merger in 1965, then became a vice-chairman of the Bonner SC. Claessen played a significant role in the DFB, including chairman of the DFB Control Committee and member of the DFB Federal Court. He exposed a major scandal in the Bundesliga that led to Hertha BSC’s relegation. He was honored with DFB Honorary Membership for his contributions to football before his death in 2005.
