He was later appointed as the Ambassador to France, Permanent Representative of Ireland to UNESCO, and from May 7, 1974, to the OECD. Additionally, he served as the non-resident Ambassador of Ireland to Morocco, contributing significantly to Irish diplomacy before his retirement.
