Humayun Rashid Choudhury was a professional Bangladeshi diplomat who served as the Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh from 1996 to 2001. He was elected as the President of the 41st session of the United Nations General Assembly in 1986. In recognition of his contributions, he posthumously received the Independence Day Award from the Government of Bangladesh in 2018.
