Ian Broad is a British drummer born in Liverpool on February 9, 1944. He was previously a member of Rory Storm & The Hurricanes, where he played before Ringo Starr. From 1964 to 1965, he played with The Big Three, The Seniors, and Heinz & The Wild Boys. He later formed the band The Trip with Riki Maiocchi and Ritchie Blackmore. After leaving The Trip in 1967, he returned to Italy for a collaboration with Demetrio Stratos, and subsequently joined the group Mad House and eventually Deep Purple.
