He attended Bryn Deva Primary School and Maes Garmon School before graduating from the University of Cardiff. He began his career as a teacher at Ioan Fedyddiwr High School and is a member of the group Diffiniad, formed with school friends in Mold. He started presenting on the S4C show Bandit in 1999 and also works as a DJ at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff, hosting nights under the name Dirty Pop.
