Ian David Marsden, born on August 24, 1967, in New York City, is a Swiss and American cartoonist, caricaturist, comic artist, illustrator, author, designer, and animator. He began his career at age 16 in Zurich with cartoons for Nebelspalter and went on to publish internationally, including in US Mad Magazine and The New Yorker. Notably, he created funny Google Doodles and designed the official mascot 'Smoony' for the 2003 Alpine Ski World Championships. He lives near Montpellier, France, with his wife Sheryl Ann and their two daughters.
