Ian Edward Fraser was an English diving pioneer, sailor, and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, awarded for his bravery during World War II. Born in Ealing, he joined the Royal Navy and commanded a midget submarine in Singapore, successfully placing mines on a Japanese cruiser. After the war, he established a commercial diving organization and served in honorary roles. Fraser retired from the Royal Naval Reserve as a lieutenant commander in 1965 and passed away on 1 September 2008 in Merseyside.
