Soala Ibiapuye Martyns-Yellowe was a Nigerian senator elected to represent the Rivers West constituency in Rivers State, serving from May 29, 1999. A qualified neuro-psychiatrist, he was the chief medical director of the Rivers State Psychiatric Hospital before his political career. Martyns-Yellowe was actively involved in various Senate committees, notably as Chairman of the Petroleum committee. He sought the governorship nomination in 2007 but sadly passed away on July 2, 2009, due to an asthmatic attack.
