Idamae Garrott was an American politician from Silver Spring, Maryland, who served as a member of the Maryland Senate from 1987 to 1994, and the Maryland House of Delegates from 1979 to 1987. She was also on the Montgomery County Council from 1966 to 1974. Noted for her advocacy of slow growth in development, she opposed the Inter-County Connector and promoted animal protection legislation, attempting to ban dog fighting in Maryland. She helped found the Montgomery County League of Women Voters and was its president from 1962 to 1966.
