His military career began in 1961 and included roles such as Chief Instructor of the Armed Forces War College and Commander of XXXI Corps. Born in Chakri, he was the brother of politician Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan. Khan passed away from a heart attack in 2009 and was buried in his ancestral graveyard.
