Igor Mitrović is a Slovenian cellist born on January 11, 1968, in Beirut. He studied at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana under Professor Miloš Mlejnika and furthered his studies at the Academy of Music in Basel. He has participated in master classes with various esteemed musicians. In 1987, he won the second prize in a competition for young artists in Zagreb. Mitrović has premiered and recorded works by Slovenian and international composers, and since 1994, he has been the principal cellist with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra.
