Ihor Olehovych Markov is a former pro-Russian Ukrainian entrepreneur born on January 18, 1973, in Odesa. He is known as the founder and chairman of the Rodina Party, and he previously served as a deputy in the Ukrainian parliament with the Party of Regions faction. Markov became a controversial figure due to his involvement in the 2007 Odesa riots, which led to a warrant for his arrest in Ukraine. He was apprehended in Sanremo, Italy, in August 2015, but Italy denied his extradition to Ukraine in February 2016.
