Iker Casanova Alonso is a Basque politician, writer, and activist born on December 20, 1972, in Barakaldo, Bizkaia. He has served as a member of the Basque Parliament representing the Euskal Herria Bildu party during the X, XI, and XII legislative periods. He has authored several works related to Basque nationalism and politics. In 2009, he received a prison sentence from the Spanish Supreme Court for being a leader of the Ekin group, which was labeled a terrorist organization. He entered the Basque Parliament on September 3, 2014, replacing Laura Mintegi.
