İlhami Çetin is a retired Turkish professor born on August 15, 1931. He graduated from Galatasaray High School and studied Electrical Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. After working as an Electrical Engineer in Germany, Switzerland, and the UK for eight years, he completed his doctorate at the University of Vienna. He returned to Turkey in 1965, started as an assistant professor at METU, and became a professor in the Business Faculty at Istanbul Technical University. He is fluent in French, German, and English, and advocated for the use of Turkish in technical terminology.
