Brigadier Imtiaz Ahmed (1935) is a retired Pakistani engineering officer and former spy, known for his role as Director-General of the Intelligence Bureau from 1990 to 1993. His career in the Pakistan Army involved combat engineering, but he mainly served in the ISI, focusing on internal security. He was implicated in the Operation Midnight Jackal scandal in 1989, leading to his discharge. In 2001, he was convicted of monetary embezzlement. Ahmed is a controversial figure, linked to the death of political leader Nazeer Abbasi and the 1988 plane crash that killed President Zia-ul-Haq.
