Inés Arango was a Colombian nun and missionary, part of the Tertiary Capuchin Sisters of the Holy Family. Born in Medellin in 1937, she dedicated her life to defending the rights of indigenous minorities in eastern Ecuador against oil companies. Tragically, she was killed alongside Bishop Alejandro Labaca by Huaorani tribe members. Arango is regarded as a martyr for her efforts and is currently undergoing the beatification process.
