Ingeborg Hochmair is an Austrian electrical engineer born in 1953. She graduated from the Vienna University of Technology and contributed to the first multi-channel cochlear implant procedure alongside her husband, Professor Erwin Hochmair. Together, they founded the medical device company MED-EL. Currently, she serves as the executive director and head of information technology at the company. In 2013, she was awarded the Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award along with two other scientists in recognition of her role in the development of the cochlear implant.
