It was announced on April 14, 2009, by Dr. Nisar Ahmed, a veterinarian specializing in embryology at the Dubai Camel Reproduction Centre in Dubai, UAE. Injaz was born after a gestation period of 378 days and weighed 30 kilograms at birth. The project received significant support from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE.
