Ion Rotaru, born on May 17, 1953, in Bordei Verde, Brăila, Romania, is a Romanian politician and member of the Romanian Parliament. A jurist by profession, he worked in the organizational apparatus of the former Romanian Communist Party before 1989. He has held various legal and administrative leadership roles in Brăila County. Elected senator in 2008, he has served in multiple committee roles and was re-elected in 2012 and 2016, representing the Social Democratic Party (PSD). He actively engages in parliamentary friendship groups with Jordan and Thailand.
