Irenaeus, born Mirko Bulović on February 11, 1947, in Stanišić, is a bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Bačka in Novi Sad and a professor at the University of Belgrade's Theological Faculty. He served as the founding administrator of the newly established Diocese of Austria-Switzerland from 2011 to 2014. A prominent intellectual within the Serbian Orthodox Church, he is the editor of the theological journal "Beseda" and a member of the Serbian Writers' Association, the Central Committee of the Conference of European Churches, and the Pan-Orthodox Commission for dialogue with the Roman Catholic and Protestant churches.
