Irina Korschunow (born December 31, 1925, in Stendal) is a German writer. She is the daughter of a German mother and a Russian father. During the Nazi regime, she experienced social isolation due to her father's background. After the war, she studied German and English literature, as well as sociology. Korschunow is known for her numerous novels, screenplays, and children's books. She has received several awards, including the Tukan Prize in 1977 and the Roswitha Prize in 1987. She currently resides in Munich.
