Iris Vivienne Morley (1910-1953) was an English historian, writer, and journalist. Born in Carshalton, Surrey, she married twice, first to Ronald Gordon Coates, then to Alaric Jacob. During World War II, she authored a trilogy of historical novels and wrote about Soviet ballet. As a journalist for major publications, she embraced communism, influencing her husband. Morley appeared in Jacob's book and was listed by Orwell as unsuitable for a government role in 1949. They had a daughter, and after her death, Jacob remarried. Morley's literary contributions reflect historical themes and her political beliefs.
